ATLANTA — City officials have broken ground on a new senior housing development in the Chosewood Park neighborhood, on land once used for public housing.

The project marks the second phase of an $87 million investment that will bring 300 rental and affordable housing units, along with retail space. It is located near the BeltLine’s Southside Trail.

The site was once home to the Englewood Manor public housing project, which was demolished in 2009.
